Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, let’s look at the ingredients needed for the dish. We have one can of tuna, colorful bell peppers, a fresh onion, sweet cherry tomatoes, and ketchup and water to add flavor. The ingredients are quite simple, aren’t they? The preparation method is even simpler, so please follow along carefully! This dish will result in a flavor that both babies and adults will love.

Step 2

We’ll start by preparing the vegetables. Let’s begin with the onion. Dice it finely into pieces that are neither too small nor too large, suitable for your child to eat. You can adjust the size based on your child’s preference or chewing ability.

Step 3

Next is preparing the bell peppers. Similar to the onion, dice them into bite-sized pieces that are easy for your child to eat. The vibrant colors of the bell peppers are very appealing to children, and they are rich in nutrients, making them excellent for baby food and toddler meals.

Step 4

For the fresh cherry tomatoes, remove the stems, cut them in half, and then slice them into appropriate, manageable pieces for your child. The refreshing taste of cherry tomatoes will enrich the overall flavor of the dish.

Step 5

Gather all the prepared vegetables on a wide plate. Having the ingredients prepped in advance makes the cooking process much smoother and saves time.

Step 6

Now, it’s time to start stir-frying. Heat a generous amount of cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. You can use any type of cooking oil you have at home. However, it’s best to avoid strongly flavored oils like sesame oil or perilla oil, as they can overpower the natural flavors of the ingredients.

Step 7

First, sauté the diced onion in the pan. Sautéing the onion first allows its sweet aroma to infuse into the oil, which effectively helps to eliminate any potential fishy smell from the tuna when it’s added later. Cook the onion over medium-low heat until it becomes translucent.

Step 8

Once the onion is well-sautéed and a delicious aroma fills the air, it’s time to add the canned tuna. Drain the oil from the canned tuna thoroughly using a sieve before adding it to the pan. Removing the excess oil will ensure a less greasy and more delicate flavor.

Step 9

After lightly stir-frying the tuna with the onion, add all the diced bell peppers and continue to stir-fry everything together. The addition of various colored bell peppers makes the dish look more appetizing.

Step 10

When the stir-fried vegetables and tuna have blended well and started to soften, add the sliced cherry tomatoes and stir-fry for a little longer. Be careful not to overcook the cherry tomatoes until they become too mushy.

Step 11

Now it’s time to season. Add 1 ladle of ketchup (approximately 2-3 tablespoons). The sweet and tangy flavor of ketchup is just right for children to enjoy.

Step 12

Next, carefully pour in 100ml of water. Adding water helps to evenly distribute the ingredients and adds a moist texture.

Step 13

Once all the ingredients and seasoning are combined, bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat. Stir occasionally as it simmers to allow the flavors to meld into the ingredients as the sauce reduces.

Step 14

When the sauce has thickened to a desirable consistency, coating the ingredients nicely as shown in the photo, turn off the heat. Allow the dish to cool down significantly before serving. It’s important to let it cool to an appropriate temperature rather than serving it immediately to your baby while it’s still hot.

Step 15

Finally, transfer the cooled tuna and vegetable stir-fry into your baby’s dedicated food container. Congratulations, it’s ready! Enjoy this nutritious and delicious special meal for your baby!
