Ramen- 1 packet of ramen (use noodles and dry vegetable mix)
- A little ice
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, bring about 1 liter (approx. 5 cups) of water to a rolling boil in a pot. Once the water is boiling, add the ramen noodles, finely julienned onion, bean sprouts, and the dry vegetable mix from the ramen packet all at once. The bean sprouts add a delightful crunch, and the onion lends a subtle sweetness.
Step 2
Once the noodles are cooked to your liking (usually around 3 minutes), immediately drain them and rinse thoroughly under cold running water. This step makes the noodles extra springy and cools them down, enhancing the refreshing taste. Rinse the bean sprouts and onions as well.
Step 3
Let’s make the cool and delicious cold ramen broth! In a bowl or cup, combine 2 Tbsp soy sauce, 2 Tbsp brown sugar, and 2 Tbsp vinegar. Add the ramen soup base packet (excluding the dry vegetable mix). Lastly, pour in 1 cup (200ml) of cold water and stir well until the sugar dissolves. Your super simple, golden ratio broth is ready!
Step 4
Arrange the chilled noodles, bean sprouts, and onions in a serving bowl. Pour the prepared golden ratio broth over them. Finally, sprinkle the finely chopped cheongyang pepper on top to your preference for an added spicy kick that makes it even more delicious.
Step 5
To maximize the coolness, generously add about 5-7 ice cubes on top. The cold ice will further lower the broth’s temperature, creating the perfect cold ramen that you can enjoy even on the hottest summer days. Serve immediately for the best taste!
