Main Ingredients- 1kg Frozen Mixed Berries (Use a 1kg package commonly found in supermarkets)
- 500g Mulberries (Frozen from seasonal purchase)
- 500g Raspberries (Frozen)
- 2kg Granulated Sugar (White or Brown)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare your frozen mixed berries. You can easily find these sold in 1kg packages at most large supermarkets.
Step 2
For the mulberries, it’s convenient to use ones that were frozen after making mulberry enzyme during their season. If using fresh mulberries, wash them thoroughly before use.
Step 3
Combine the prepared mixed berries, mulberries, and raspberries in a bowl. Add all the sugar and mix thoroughly. It’s important to stir well so the sugar penetrates the berries evenly. (Mixing by hand can help dissolve the sugar faster due to body heat.)
Step 4
Your hands might feel cold while mixing the berries and sugar, but keep stirring diligently to ensure the sugar coats all the fruit. The sugar will begin to dissolve, creating a syrup.
Step 5
Sterilize a glass jar by boiling it in hot water, then dry it completely. Transfer the berry and sugar mixture into the sterilized jar. Let it sit at room temperature for 4-5 hours to allow the sugar to dissolve further, then refrigerate. This process creates your delicious homemade syrup.
Step 6
Your beautiful, colorful homemade syrup is ready! You can enjoy it as is, or mix it with sparkling water and ice for a refreshing homemade berry soda. It’s perfect for a revitalizing boost on a warm day!
