Main Ingredients
  • 130g minced beef
  • 2 fresh eggs
  • 2/3 medium carrot
  • 2 bowls cooked rice
  • 2 Tbsp cooking oil
  • A pinch of salt

Beef Seasoning
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp cooking wine (mirin)
  • A pinch of black pepper
  • 1 tsp sesame oil

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

In a mixing bowl, combine the 130g of minced beef with 1 tsp sugar, 1 tsp cooking wine, 1 Tbsp soy sauce, 1 tsp sesame oil, 1 tsp minced garlic, and a pinch of black pepper. Mix thoroughly until all the seasonings are well incorporated into the beef. Let it marinate for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Step 2

Heat 1 Tbsp of cooking oil in a non-stick pan over medium-low heat. Crack the 2 eggs into the pan. Gently scramble the eggs using chopsticks or a fork, breaking them into small, fluffy pieces. Cook until just set, being careful not to overcook or brown them. Once done, remove the scrambled eggs from the pan and set aside on a plate.

Step 3

Add the remaining 1 Tbsp of cooking oil to the same pan (or a clean one) over medium heat. Add the finely chopped or julienned 2/3 carrot. Sprinkle a pinch of salt to enhance the carrot’s natural sweetness. Stir-fry the carrots for about 2-3 minutes until they are tender-crisp and their color becomes vibrant.

Step 4

Now, cook the marinated beef. In the same pan, increase the heat to medium-high. Add the marinated minced beef. Break up any clumps with a spatula or chopsticks and stir-fry until the beef is fully cooked through and has turned a nice brown color. Ensure the seasoning coats the beef evenly. Keep stirring to prevent burning.

Step 5

Assemble your beautiful three-color rice bowl. In a lunchbox container, spread the 2 bowls of warm cooked rice evenly. Artfully arrange the fluffy scrambled eggs, the stir-fried carrots, and the savory stir-fried beef on top of the rice, separating the colors for a visually appealing presentation. Enjoy your colorful and delicious lunch!
