Ingredients

  • 1 cup yellow beans
  • A pinch of salt

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, wash the yellow beans thoroughly and drain them well. Roast them in a pan over medium-low heat, being careful not to burn them. Once they release a nutty aroma and are nicely roasted, let them cool. Then, grind them into a fine powder.

Step 2

Next, wash the black sesame seeds and drain them completely. Roast them similarly to the yellow beans over medium-low heat until fragrant and slightly toasted. Be careful not to scorch them. Once cooled, grind the roasted black sesame seeds into a fine powder.

Step 3

In a bowl, place the yellow bean powder and add 2 tablespoons of honey. Mix well with your hands or a spatula until you achieve a thick, dough-like consistency. The dough should not be too sticky; adjust as needed for it to hold its shape in the mold. Take small portions of the dough, press them firmly into a Dasiq mold, and carefully eject to create the yellow bean Dasiq.

Step 4

To the black sesame powder, add 1 tablespoon of honey and mix well. Transfer this mixture to a steamer and steam for about 20 minutes. After steaming, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of honey to the black sesame dough. Knead or pound the dough vigorously, similar to making rice cake, until the oil is released, it becomes glossy, and forms a cohesive mass. It’s important to knead it enough for the oil to come out. Once the dough is ready, take portions about the size of a small chestnut, press them into the Dasiq mold, and carefully mold them into charming black sesame Dasiq.
