Tzatziki Sauce Ingredients- 150g thick Greek yogurt
- 2 sprigs fresh dill
- 1 cucumber
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Pinch of salt
- Pinch of black pepper
Salad Ingredients- 1 chicken breast
- 2 handfuls salad greens
- 1 chicken breast
- 2 handfuls salad greens
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Thoroughly wash the cucumber and pat it dry. Using a mandoline slicer or a sharp knife, julienne the cucumber into very thin strips. Thin strips will incorporate better into the Tzatziki sauce.
Step 2
Lightly sprinkle the julienned cucumber with salt and toss to combine. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes to draw out excess moisture. This step helps to keep the Tzatziki sauce from becoming watery and enhances the cucumber’s crispness.
Step 3
Remove the tough stems from the fresh dill sprigs and finely chop the leaves. Peel the garlic cloves, then mince them finely. This will help release their aromatic oils.
Step 4
Take the salted cucumber strips and squeeze them firmly with your hands to remove as much liquid as possible. Removing excess water is crucial for achieving the right consistency for your Tzatziki sauce.
Step 5
In a medium bowl, combine the squeezed cucumber, thick Greek yogurt, minced garlic, fresh lemon juice, olive oil, a pinch of salt, and a pinch of freshly ground black pepper. Stir gently with a spoon or spatula until well combined, creating the Tzatziki sauce. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
Step 6
Arrange the salad greens on a plate. Add your cooked chicken breast (boiled or grilled). Generously spoon the freshly made Tzatziki sauce over the chicken and greens to complete this delicious and healthy Tzatziki Chicken Breast Salad. Garnish with a few fresh herb leaves for an extra touch of elegance.
