Tteokbokki Ingredients

  • 200g soft rice cakes (mill-tteok)
  • 200g fish cakes

  • 1 Tbsp Plum Extract (or other sweetener)
  • 1 tsp Ginger Syrup (optional, can be omitted)

Cooking Instructions

First, the foundation of delicious tteokbokki is the broth! Prepare a rich broth made from anchovies and kelp. Pour about 500ml of this broth into a pot and bring it to a rolling boil over high heat. Once the broth is boiling, get ready to add the next ingredients.

As the broth comes to a vigorous boil, add the soft rice cakes (mill-tteok). These rice cakes are wonderfully chewy and absorb the broth exceptionally well, making them perfect for soupy tteokbokki. Gently stir to prevent them from sticking together.
