  • 2 Tbsp Saeujeot (fermented salted shrimp)
  • 1 tsp Gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
  • A pinch of sesame seeds
  • 1 Cheongyang chili pepper

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Today, we’re going to make a salted shrimp relish that pairs perfectly with meat. It’s a delicious recipe that will enrich your dining table.

Step 1

Step 2

First, in a bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of Saeujeot (fermented salted shrimp), rinsed and drained, with 1 teaspoon of Gochugaru (Korean chili flakes). Add a pinch of sesame seeds for aroma and 1 finely chopped Cheongyang chili pepper. If you enjoy a spicier kick, feel free to adjust the amount of chili pepper.

Step 2

Step 3

Once all the ingredients are in the bowl, gently mix them together using chopsticks or a spoon until well combined. If you find the original saltiness of the Saeujeot too strong, you can lightly rinse the shrimp in cold water and pat them dry before mixing to moderate the saltiness.

Step 3

Step 4

And there you have it – a perfectly seasoned salted shrimp relish that’s both savory and delightfully spicy! Place it on top of warm Bossam or tender Suyuk (boiled pork slices) for an exceptional taste experience. It’s also incredibly delicious spooned over a bowl of rice.
