Ingredients
  • 1 kg blueberries
  • 500 grams sugar
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, combine 1 kg of frozen blueberries and 500 grams of sugar in a large bowl and mix them thoroughly. This step allows the sugar to draw out the natural moisture from the blueberries, creating a sweet syrup.

Step 2

Transfer the mixed blueberries and sugar into a pot and bring to a boil over high heat. Stir continuously with a spatula to prevent sticking to the bottom. The liquid released from the blueberries will start to simmer.

Step 3

Once the blueberries start boiling and the sugar dissolves, creating a syrupy liquid, reduce the heat to medium. It’s important to simmer gently to achieve your desired consistency. Continue to stir occasionally as it reduces.

Step 4

When the liquid thickens and the bubbles start to coalesce, resembling small beads sticking together, it’s almost ready. At this point, stir in 3 tablespoons of lemon juice for a touch of brightness and better preservation. Turn off the heat and let it cool completely.
