  • Difficulty : Anyone

Main Ingredients
  • Sea mustard stems

Seasoning Ingredients
  • 1 Tbsp Gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 Tbsp Gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
  • 2 Tbsp Corn syrup
  • A pinch of sesame seeds
  • A touch of sesame oil

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

To enhance the chewy texture and make them easier to cook, steam the sea mustard stems in a steamer for about 2 minutes. This steaming process removes their natural sliminess and results in a more delightfully firm and springy texture.

Step 2

Let’s make a delicious seasoning sauce! In a bowl, combine 1 tablespoon of gochujang, 1 tablespoon of gochugaru, and 2 tablespoons of corn syrup, mixing well. Finally, add a pinch of nutty sesame seeds and a touch of fragrant sesame oil for extra flavor.

Step 3

Add the prepared seasoning sauce to the steamed sea mustard stems and mix them thoroughly with your hands until well combined. You don’t need to add extra soy sauce at this stage. Sea mustard stems are naturally a bit salty, so the seasoning from the gochujang is sufficient to create a perfectly seasoned and tender stir-fry.
