Main Ingredients
- Potatoes (medium-sized)
- Sliced ham
- Button mushrooms
- Bell peppers (various colors like red, yellow)
- Rice cakes (tteokbokki style or similar)
- Pineapple (canned or fresh)
- Mozzarella cheese (or your favorite cheese)
Other Ingredients
- Cooking oil (olive oil or vegetable oil)
- Skewering sauce (store-bought BBQ sauce, teriyaki sauce, or homemade sauce)
- Cooking oil (olive oil or vegetable oil)
- Skewering sauce (store-bought BBQ sauce, teriyaki sauce, or homemade sauce)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Prepare all ingredients by cutting them into bite-sized pieces (about 2-3 cm) that are easy to skewer. Wash the potatoes thoroughly and prepare them, or you can leave the skin on. Cut the rice cakes into pieces suitable for skewering, similar to tteokbokki rice cakes.
Step 2
Before skewering the potatoes, you can parboil them in boiling water until slightly tender, or after cutting, toss them with a little oil and bake in a preheated oven at 240°C (465°F) for about 15-20 minutes until lightly golden. This helps achieve a soft interior and a slightly chewy exterior. (Optional: You can skip this step and grill directly.)
Step 3
Thread the prepared ingredients onto the skewer sticks, arranging them in an appealing order considering color and ingredient combinations. Feel free to get creative! Lightly brush all the ingredients on the skewers with oil. This prevents them from drying out during cooking and keeps them moist and flavorful.
Step 4
Brush the skewered ingredients, which have been coated with oil, evenly with your chosen sauce using a pastry brush. Place them in a preheated oven at 190°C (375°F) and bake until the cheese is melted and golden brown, approximately 10-15 minutes. Adjust the time based on your oven’s performance. If you don’t have an oven, you can grill them in a pan over low heat, flipping occasionally, or use an air fryer for convenience.
