  • Difficulty : Anyone

Ingredients
  • 100g ground beef
  • 2 bell peppers (choose a variety of colors for a beautiful presentation)
  • 200ml tomato puree
  • 1/4 onion, finely chopped
  • 45g pizza cheese
  • 1/2 Tbsp allulose (or sweetener of your choice, adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 Tbsp minced garlic
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, wash the two bell peppers thoroughly. Slice off the top and bottom ends, then make a vertical slit down one side.

Step 2

Carefully open up the bell peppers along the slit. They should naturally unfold, resembling open petals.

Step 3

Place the opened bell peppers on a steaming rack or colander. This helps them maintain their shape as they bake. Now, preheat your air fryer or oven to 180°C (350°F) and bake the bell peppers for 20 minutes until they are tender and slightly softened.

Step 4

Finely chop the 1/4 onion. This will add a lovely depth of flavor to your pizza sauce.

Step 5

Now, melt a knob of butter in a pan over medium-low heat.

Step 6

Add the 100g of ground beef to the pan. Season it with a pinch of salt and a dash of black pepper. (Sprinkle salt, add pepper). Sauté for about 1 minute and 30 seconds, breaking up the meat to ensure it cooks evenly and doesn’t clump together.

Step 7

Once the beef is cooked, transfer it to a separate bowl and set aside.

Step 8

Using the same pan, add the chopped onion and the minced garlic (or sliced garlic). Sauté over medium-low heat until the onions become translucent and fragrant. This process builds a beautiful flavor base.

Step 9

Once the onions are softened and translucent, pour in the 200ml of tomato puree. Stir well to combine with the onions and garlic.

Step 10

Add the 1/2 tablespoon of allulose for a touch of sweetness, and a sprinkle of black pepper.

Step 11

Simmer the sauce over low heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly. This concentrates the flavors into a rich pizza sauce.

Step 12

Place a piece of parchment paper on the air fryer basket or a baking sheet. Arrange the two baked bell peppers on top, slightly overlapping them to create a pizza base.

Step 13

Spoon the prepared tomato sauce evenly over the bell peppers, spreading it to the edges.

Step 14

Next, sprinkle the cooked ground beef over the sauce.

Step 15

Finally, generously top with 45g of pizza cheese. Make sure to cover the surface well for that perfect melted finish.

Step 16

Place the pizza in the preheated air fryer set at 200°C (400°F) and bake for 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and slightly golden brown. Your delicious bell pepper pizza is ready!

Step 17

For easier serving and a neater presentation, use kitchen scissors instead of a knife to cut the pizza. This will prevent the bell pepper base from breaking apart.

Step 18

If you’re a fan of bell peppers, you’re going to absolutely love this recipe! Enjoy a healthy, guilt-free, and incredibly delicious bell pepper pizza. It’s a fantastic way to enjoy pizza night while making a wholesome choice for you and your family!
