  • 1 small sweet pumpkin (like a ‘bam danho-bak’, smaller than regular varieties)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • 1 egg
  • Shredded cheese (mozzarella or a blend, to taste)

First, wash the sweet pumpkin thoroughly. (For this recipe, a smaller variety called ‘bam danho-bak’ was used, which is smaller than a typical pumpkin. Ensure it’s clean and ready for use after removing any seeds.)

Carefully slice off the top portion of the pumpkin, about 2cm down, to create a lid. This will make it easier to fill and cook. (Don’t cut all the way through; leave it attached like a lid.)

Hollow out the inside of the pumpkin, then gently crack one egg into the cavity.

Now, use a fork to lightly break the yolk. This ensures the egg cooks evenly and mixes well within the pumpkin, resulting in a smoother texture.
