Main Ingredients
  • Beef brisket (thinly sliced) 250g
  • Bean sprouts 2 handfuls (generous amount)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, rinse the bean sprouts thoroughly under running water to remove any dirt or debris. After rinsing, drain them well in a colander to remove excess water. This is crucial to prevent the dish from becoming watery during cooking.

Step 2

Heat a lightly oiled pan over medium-high heat. Add the 250g of thinly sliced beef brisket and stir-fry. If the brisket is fatty, you can gently wipe the pan with paper towels between cooking to remove excess grease for a cleaner result.

Step 3

Continue to cook the beef brisket, turning it occasionally, until it’s golden brown and looks appetizing. Once cooked, remove the brisket from the pan and set it aside on a plate to drain any excess oil.

Step 4

There will be some residual oil left in the pan from cooking the beef. Add the drained bean sprouts to this hot pan and stir-fry them briskly over high heat. They will begin to soften and wilt slightly.

Step 5

While keeping the heat high, evenly pour 2 Tbsp of ‘Cham Sauce’ over the bean sprouts in the pan. This Korean soy sauce-based condiment will add a wonderful savory depth to the dish.

Step 6

Next, add 0.5 Tbsp of oyster sauce. Oyster sauce contributes a rich umami flavor. Quickly stir everything together to ensure the sauces are evenly distributed and coat the bean sprouts.

Step 7

Now, return the cooked beef brisket to the pan. Gently toss everything together to combine the meat and bean sprouts with the sauce. Be careful not to overcook at this stage; stir-fry for only about 30 seconds to 1 minute, just long enough to meld the flavors and heat through, preserving the bean sprouts’ crispness.

Step 8

Just before turning off the heat, drizzle 1 Tbsp of sesame oil around the edges of the pan. The fragrant aroma of the sesame oil will elevate the overall flavor profile of the dish.

Step 9

Finally, sprinkle a pinch of toasted sesame seeds over the stir-fry for added texture and visual appeal. Your delicious Beef Brisket and Bean Sprout Stir-fry is now complete!

Step 10

Enjoy this delightful dish with a warm bowl of rice, or serve it as a fantastic accompaniment to a cold beer or soju!
