Main Ingredients
  • 1/2 bowl of warm cooked rice
  • 5 fresh eggs
  • 1 medium potato
  • 1/4 green bell pepper, 1/4 red bell pepper
  • 1/5 carrot
  • 2 slices cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 onion
  • 2 strips bacon
  • 20g mozzarella cheese
  • Tomato ketchup (for drizzling)
  • Cooking oil (for cooking)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Pepper (a pinch)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, wash and prepare all the vegetable ingredients needed for the dish. Finely dice the green and red bell peppers, onion, and carrot. Place these finely chopped vegetables in a bowl, crack in 5 fresh eggs, and add a pinch of salt and pepper. Whisk everything together with chopsticks or a whisk until well combined and smooth. It’s important to ensure the vegetables are evenly distributed in the egg mixture.

Step 2

Slice the bacon into roughly 1cm pieces. Lightly grease a pan with cooking oil and sauté the bacon until golden brown and crispy. Drain the bacon on paper towels to remove excess grease. In the same pan, add the peeled and diced potato along with the finely chopped onion, and sauté until the onion becomes translucent. Cook the potatoes over medium heat until they are tender and cooked through.

Step 3

In a large bowl, combine the 1/2 bowl of warm cooked rice with the whisked egg and vegetable mixture. Gently mix with a spatula or spoon to ensure the rice grains are not clumped together. The key is to coat each grain of rice evenly with the egg and vegetable mixture. Pour this rice and egg mixture over the sautéed potatoes. Gently press down to spread the mixture evenly over the potatoes.

Step 4

Now it’s time to add the key flavor elements: cheese and bacon. Sprinkle the cooked bacon pieces evenly over the rice and egg mixture. Then, tear or cut the 2 slices of cheddar cheese and distribute them on top, followed by the 20g of mozzarella cheese. Once all the ingredients are added, cover the pan tightly with a lid. Cook over low heat for about 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is completely melted and the egg is fully cooked through. Be careful not to use heat that is too high, as the bottom may burn.

Step 5

Once the Frittata Egg Rice is nicely golden brown and cooked, carefully transfer it to a serving plate. Finally, drizzle with tomato ketchup according to your preference. Your delicious Frittata Egg Rice is now complete! It’s best enjoyed warm. This dish is great as a snack for kids or as a simple meal replacement.
