  • 2 packets of instant black coffee mix or 2 Nespresso capsules (use 2 capsules for a richer coffee flavor)
  • 6 Tbsp (approx. 90ml) heavy whipping cream
  • 1 Tbsp granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • A pinch of ground cinnamon or cocoa powder (for garnish)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

In a bowl, combine 6 tablespoons of heavy whipping cream with 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar. The sugar will sweeten the cream and help it stabilize.

Step 2

Using a whisk (a handheld whisk from Daiso or an electric hand mixer), whip the cream. Continue whipping until it becomes thick, fluffy, and forms soft peaks. This consistency is key for that luscious Einspänner topping. An electric mixer will make this process quicker and easier!

Step 3

If you prefer a strong coffee base, brew 2 shots of espresso using 2 Nespresso capsules (totaling about 60ml). Alternatively, dissolve 2 packets of instant black coffee mix in 50ml of hot water to create a concentrated coffee base. The intensity of the coffee is crucial for the signature Einspänner flavor.

Step 4

Pour the prepared coffee into your serving glass, leaving about 6-7 cm of space from the top. Fill the glass with ice cubes to chill the coffee thoroughly. Be mindful not to overfill with ice, as it can dilute the coffee’s flavor.
