Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, let’s prepare the vegetables for a delicious Bulgogi. Divide the green onion stalk into two parts: cut one part into large chunks and the other into thin diagonal slices for marinating. Slice the onion thinly. Pat the pork belly dry with paper towels to remove excess blood for a cleaner taste.

Step 2

Now, let’s make the flavorful sauce! In a bowl, add the thawed pork belly. Mix in the sugar, minced garlic, gochujang, mirin, curry powder, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and gochugaru. Add half of the diagonally sliced green onions and gently toss with your hands to ensure the pork and sauce are well combined. Marinate for at least 10 minutes to let the flavors meld beautifully.

Step 3

Wow, the Bulgogi marinade looks so appetizing and vibrant! The beautifully coated pork is making me hungry already.

Step 4

Heat a pan over medium heat. Add the marinated pork and stir-fry. It’s helpful to use chopsticks or a spatula to separate the pork pieces as they cook to prevent sticking. Add the thinly sliced onions along with the pork and continue to stir-fry until they are well combined.

Step 5

When the pork is almost cooked through and starting to look slightly browned, add the chopped Cheongyang peppers for a spicy kick. You can adjust the amount of peppers according to your preference for heat.

Step 6

Finally, add the large chunks of green onion. Drizzle a bit of sesame oil around the edges of the pan to enhance the aroma. Stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes over high heat. This final step allows all the flavors to harmonize perfectly, creating a fantastic Bulgogi.

Step 7

And there you have it – Hyo-daeng’s glossy and delicious Bulgogi is complete! Serve it over warm rice, or wrap it in fresh lettuce leaves with some ssamjang for an extra delightful bite. Enjoy your flavorful meal with this spicy and sweet Bulgogi!
