Main Ingredients
- 8 leftover bread pieces (crusts/edges)
- 50g unsalted butter, softened
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 Tbsp dried parsley flakes
Garlic Butter Sauce
- 1 pinch salt
- 1.5 Tbsp sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 1.5 Tbsp sugar
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
The stars of this recipe are these 8 pieces of leftover bread. Prepare those hard edges or crusts you might usually discard or find difficult to use.
Step 2
Mince the 4 cloves of garlic finely. Ensure your butter is softened to room temperature, or prepare to melt it using the method described below. Measure out your dried parsley flakes.
Step 3
Place the 50g of butter in a heatproof bowl. Set this bowl over another bowl filled with hot water (double boiler method) and let the butter melt slowly and gently. No stirring needed, it will melt naturally.
Step 4
To the melted butter, add the minced garlic, 1/2 Tbsp of parsley flakes, a pinch of salt, and 1.5 Tbsp of sugar. Stir well with a spoon until the sugar is completely dissolved, creating your garlic butter sauce.
Step 5
Generously spread the prepared garlic butter sauce onto each piece of leftover bread. Make sure to cover the bread evenly; this is key to achieving maximum flavor.
Step 6
Cut the buttered bread into bite-sized pieces. These are perfect for little snacks that both children and adults can easily enjoy.
Step 7
Line an oven tray with parchment paper. Arrange the bite-sized garlic bread pieces on the tray, ensuring they are spread out and not overlapping.
Step 8
Bake in a preheated oven at 230°C (450°F) for about 4-5 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Baking times can vary depending on your oven’s specifications, so keep an eye on them and adjust the time as needed to prevent burning. Get ready to enjoy your delicious, fragrant garlic bread!
