Nostalgic Pink Sausage Pancake: A Simple and Pretty National Side Dish
Making Pink Sausage Pancakes, A Taste of Nostalgia
Don’t you sometimes crave the foods you ate in your childhood? For me, it’s the pink sausage pancake with egg. Today, I’ve made a pretty pink sausage pancake. Make it simply and beautifully to serve on your table! It’s a delightful dish that brings back fond memories and is easy to make.
Main Ingredients
- 2 Eggs
- 1/2 Pink Sausage (about 7-8 slices)
- 2 Tbsp Cooking Oil
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the pink sausage and eggs. Slice the pink sausage into about 7 to 8 pieces. You will need 2 eggs.
Step 2
In a bowl, crack the 2 eggs. Add a pinch of salt (or seasoned salt) and a dash of black pepper. Whisk the eggs thoroughly until well beaten. Slice the pink sausage into pieces that are not too thin, about 7 slices in total. Aim for a moderate thickness so they don’t break apart easily when coated.
Step 3
Gently dip the sliced pink sausage pieces into the beaten egg mixture. Ensure each slice is evenly coated with the egg batter. You can lightly shake off any excess egg before placing it in the pan.
Step 4
Heat a frying pan over medium-low heat. Add about 2 tablespoons of cooking oil. Carefully place the egg-coated sausage slices onto the hot pan, spreading them out. Try to leave a little space between each slice to prevent them from sticking together.
Step 5
Cook over medium-low heat until one side is golden brown and slightly crispy. This usually takes a few minutes. Carefully flip the sausage slices using chopsticks or a spatula. Be mindful of the heat to prevent burning.
Step 6
Continue to cook the other side over low heat until it’s also golden brown and the sausage is cooked through. Once both sides are beautifully browned and cooked, your pink sausage pancakes are ready. Enjoy this simple yet delicious dish!
Step 7
Arrange the finished pink sausage pancakes attractively on a plate. They are best enjoyed warm. You can serve them with ketchup or a soy sauce-based dipping sauce. This makes a wonderful snack for kids or a simple accompaniment to drinks.
