Main Ingredients
- 1 bunch Gondeure namul (about 200g)
- 1 cup short-grain white rice (mepssal)
- 1 cup soaked brown rice (hyunmi)
- 2 cups water
Seasoning Sauce Ingredients
- 1/3 tsp coarse sea salt (cheonilyeom)
- 1 Tbsp sesame oil
- 1/3 tsp minced garlic
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp water
- 1 Tbsp vinegar
- 1/2 tsp oligo당 (oligosaccharide syrup)
- 1/2 tsp toasted sesame seeds
- 1/2 tsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp perilla oil (deulgireum)
- 1/3 tsp coarse sea salt (cheonilyeom)
- 1 Tbsp sesame oil

Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the gondeure namul. Trim any tough, fibrous parts of the stems and select the tender leaves.

Bring a large pot of water to a rolling boil. Add the prepared gondeure namul and boil until tender. You can check for doneness by trying to easily break a thicker stem; if it snaps easily, it’s cooked. Immediately drain the boiled namul and rinse it under cold water to stop the cooking process. Squeeze out as much excess water as possible.

In a bowl, gently toss the squeezed gondeure namul with 1 tablespoon of sesame oil and 1/2 tablespoon of soy sauce. This pre-seasoning will enhance the natural flavor and aroma of the gondeure when cooked in the rice.

Rinse 1 cup of short-grain white rice and 1 cup of soaked brown rice thoroughly. Place them in your rice cooker pot. Add 2 cups of water, which is the standard amount for this quantity of rice.
