Main Ingredients
  • Jin Ramen Spicy Flavor 2 packs
  • Milk 2 cups (400ml)
  • Sliced Cheese 3 slices
  • Shrimp (cocktail or regular) 8 pcs
  • Butter 2 Tbsp
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 Onion
  • 10 cloves Garlic

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, we’ll prepare the noodles for two packs of Jin Ramen Spicy Flavor. Since the noodles will be stir-fried in the sauce later, cook them just until al dente, rather than fully cooked. Once cooked, immediately rinse the noodles under cold water and drain them. This will prevent the noodles from becoming mushy and keep them delightfully chewy.

Step 2

Thinly slice half an onion. Mince 10 cloves of garlic by pressing them with the side of your knife, then slicing them thinly. Slicing the garlic thinly will release a richer aroma and enhance the flavor.

Step 3

Prepare a medium-sized pan and add 2 tablespoons of butter. Slowly melt the butter over low heat. It’s important to maintain low heat to prevent the butter from burning.

Step 4

Once the butter is melted, add all the thinly sliced garlic and sauté until it turns golden brown and fragrant. Stir occasionally to prevent the garlic from burning.

Step 5

When the garlic is golden brown, add the shrimp and sliced onions to the pan and stir-fry together until the shrimp turns pink and is cooked through. If you are using cocktail shrimp, cook them the same way as regular shrimp. Feel free to adjust the amount of shrimp to your preference.

Step 6

Once the shrimp and onions are cooked, add 2 cups (400ml) of milk and 3 slices of processed cheese. Increase the heat to medium-high and bring to a simmer, stirring constantly until the cheese melts and the sauce thickens.

Step 7

As the sauce begins to simmer, it’s time to add the ramen soup base. Do not add the entire packet; use only one packet. Adjust the amount of seasoning according to your personal taste. Generally, about 2/3 of a packet is appropriate, and it’s best not to exceed one packet to avoid making it too salty.

Step 8

After adding the soup base and the sauce is well combined and simmering, add the pre-cooked and drained noodles. Stir-fry gently for about 1-2 minutes to coat the noodles evenly with the sauce.

Step 9

Your delicious Toowoomba ramen is now complete! For a final touch, sprinkle some dried parsley over the top for a beautiful presentation. Enjoy your rich and creamy Toowoomba ramen!
