Main Ingredients
  • 2 bowls warm cooked rice
  • 2 slices mozzarella cheese
  • 1 slice cheddar cheese

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare 2 bowls of warm cooked rice. Warm rice is easier to mix with seasoning and shape. In the prepared rice, add 2 teaspoons of soy sauce and mix thoroughly with a spatula or spoon until the soy sauce is evenly distributed, coating each grain of rice.

Step 2

Now, get your triangle onigiri mold ready. Place a portion of the soy sauce seasoned rice into the mold and press down firmly to create a triangle shape. Using a mold ensures uniform and attractive shapes, making them pleasant to look at and easy to eat.

Step 3

Place one slice of mozzarella cheese on top of each formed triangle of soy sauce rice. The residual heat from the rice will begin to melt the cheese, acting as the delicious filling for your onigiri.

Step 4

Arrange the rice triangles with cheese on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 5 minutes. The key is to bake just until the mozzarella cheese starts to melt.

Step 5

While the first batch of onigiri is baking, prepare the remaining triangle rice shapes by placing one slice of cheddar cheese on top of each. Cheddar cheese will add a richer flavor and appealing color.

Step 6

Place these cheddar-topped triangles onto the baking sheet and bake in the same preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for an additional 5 to 7 minutes, or until the cheddar cheese is nicely melted and slightly golden. You can remove them alongside the mozzarella onigiri.

Step 7

Finally, sprinkle a pinch of dried parsley over the finished cheese onigiri for garnish. The fragrant parsley will enhance the flavors of the cheese and soy sauce rice. Enjoy them immediately while they are warm for the best gooey cheese experience!
