Main Ingredients
  • 1 pack Chicken Breast (approx. 200g)
  • 1 Onion (medium size)
  • 4 Cherry Tomatoes (or 1/2 regular tomato)
  • 1 Green Chili Pepper (or 1/2 Korean chili pepper, adjust spice level)

Seasoning
  • 1.5 Tbsp Perilla Oil (1/2 + 1 Tbsp)
  • Pinch of Salt

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, peel and thinly slice the onion. Heat 1/2 Tbsp of perilla oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and stir-fry until they become translucent. Stir-frying the onions sufficiently brings out their sweetness and enhances the dish’s flavor.

Step 2

Once the onions are softened, add a pinch of salt for seasoning. Cut the prepared chicken breast into bite-sized pieces (cubes or strips) and add them to the pan. Since the chicken breast is already cooked, stir-fry it only until its color slightly changes. This prevents it from becoming tough and keeps it moist.

Step 3

When the chicken breast is lightly cooked, add the cherry tomatoes, washed and halved, and stir-fry them together. The tomatoes will soften slightly, creating a delicious sauce naturally. At this point, taste the dish and add more salt if needed, as the chicken breast might already be seasoned.

Step 4

Finally, to add color and a hint of spiciness, add the thinly sliced green chili pepper (seeds removed) and mix lightly. If you prefer it spicier, you can use a Korean chili pepper.

Step 5

Lastly, drizzle the remaining 1 Tbsp of perilla oil around the edge of the pan to add aroma. The nutty flavor of the perilla oil will elevate the overall taste of the dish.

Step 6

Give everything a final gentle toss to combine well. Serve warm immediately. This delicious chicken breast and tomato stir-fry is great as a side dish for rice or served over a salad.
