Delicious Tomato Pasta with Cocktail Shrimp: An Easy Recipe!
Make a delicious tomato pasta with cocktail shrimp in a super simple way. This recipe is quick and easy, perfect for a weeknight meal.
Ingredients
- Spaghetti for 2 servings
- 1/2 cup cocktail shrimp (thawed and drained)
Seasoning
- 1/2 Tbsp minced garlic
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- Pinch of salt
- Pinch of black pepper
- A little olive oil (for boiling pasta and sautéing)
- 1/2 Tbsp minced garlic
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- Pinch of salt
- Pinch of black pepper
- A little olive oil (for boiling pasta and sautéing)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Bring a large pot of water to a rolling boil. Once boiling, add about 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Add the spaghetti and cook for 9 minutes, or 1 minute less than the package directions. Cooking it slightly al dente ensures it won’t get mushy when tossed with the sauce later.
Step 2
While the pasta is cooking, heat a skillet over medium heat. Add 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil. Once the oil is shimmering, add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. If you have sliced garlic, that works beautifully too, but minced garlic is perfectly fine. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
Step 3
As soon as the garlic becomes fragrant, add the thawed and drained cocktail shrimp to the skillet. Sauté the shrimp until they turn pink and are cooked through. Avoid overcooking, as this can make the shrimp tough.
Step 4
Once the shrimp are cooked, pour in the store-bought tomato sauce. Stir everything together and let it simmer for a moment, allowing the flavors to meld. You’ll start to smell the delicious aroma as the sauce heats up.
Step 5
Drain the cooked spaghetti and add it directly to the skillet with the sauce and shrimp. Add about 1/4 cup of the pasta cooking water (pasta water) to the skillet. Toss everything together over medium heat for 1-2 minutes, allowing the sauce to coat the pasta and thicken slightly. The pasta water helps emulsify the sauce and makes it cling to the noodles. Season with salt and pepper to your taste. Your super simple and delicious shrimp tomato pasta is ready to enjoy!
