Soft Crab Stick and Zucchini Pancake
Baby Food Recipe: Delicious Crab Stick and Zucchini Pancake
A perfect first pancake for your baby! Introducing a recipe for a soft crab stick and zucchini pancake, featuring a delightful combination of tender zucchini and chewy crab sticks. Make a nutritious snack with simple ingredients.
Main Ingredients
- Zucchini: 40g (about half of a baby’s fist)
- Crab sticks (imitation crab meat): 1 piece
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare all the necessary ingredients. Wash the zucchini thoroughly and then slice it thinly into long, matchstick-like pieces that are easy for your baby to eat. Gently tear the crab sticks along their natural lines so they don’t clump together. Preparing the ingredients this way makes them easier for babies to chew and contributes to a softer texture in the pancake.
Step 2
In a large bowl, combine the prepared shredded zucchini and torn crab sticks. Add 1 tablespoon of pancake mix and toss gently to coat the zucchini and crab sticks evenly. The pancake mix helps the ingredients stick together and adds a pleasant crispiness to the pancake.
Step 3
Now it’s time to make the batter. Carefully add 2 tablespoons of water. It’s important not to add too much water, as this can make the batter too thin. The key is to add just enough water so the ingredients are barely bound together.
Step 4
Using a spoon or spatula, gently mix the ingredients in the bowl until they start to come together. Be careful not to mix too vigorously, as this can mash the zucchini. Stir gently, ensuring the pancake mix and water evenly coat the zucchini and crab sticks. If the batter seems too runny, add a little more pancake mix. If it seems too stiff, add a tiny bit more water to achieve the right consistency.
Step 5
Heat a frying pan over medium heat and add about 2 tablespoons of cooking oil. Once the pan is adequately heated, it will be at the perfect temperature for frying the pancakes. Tilt the pan to ensure the oil spreads evenly across the surface.
Step 6
Using a spoon, scoop portions of the prepared batter and place them onto the hot pan, forming small, flat circles. Avoid overcrowding the pan, as this will slow down cooking and make flipping difficult. Cook over low to medium-low heat, flipping once golden brown on each side. Cook gently, ensuring they don’t burn, to enjoy your soft and delicious crab stick and zucchini pancakes!
