Basic Dough Ingredients
  • 90g unsalted butter, softened
  • 60g powdered sugar
  • 1g salt (a pinch)
  • 1 egg yolk

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, in a bowl, cream together the softened butter (90g) with powdered sugar (60g) and salt (1g) until light and fluffy using a hand mixer or whisk. Then, add the egg yolk (1) and mix gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the dough too soft.

Step 2

Sift the cake flour (100g), cocoa powder (15g), and almond flour (10g) over the butter mixture. Use a spatula or your hands to gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined and a dough forms. Avoid overworking the dough, as this can result in tough cookies.

Step 3

Transfer the cookie dough into a piping bag fitted with a star tip (like a 1M or a similar size). This tip will help create the fluffy texture of a poodle’s fur.

Step 4

Start by piping the ear shapes. Hold the piping bag vertically and pipe small oval or rounded shapes at regular intervals to form the cute ears.

Step 5

Next, pipe the round shape for the poodle’s face. Position the piping bag over the dough and pipe a circular shape, about 3-4 cm in diameter, between the ears or in a suitable spot. You can adjust the size to your preference.

Step 6

Pipe a small circle for the muzzle or nose area below the face shape. Piping a slightly smaller circle here will add a nice dimensional effect.

Step 7

Pipe the paw shapes. Pipe small, bean-sized circles next to or below the face, in groups of two or three connected, to create adorable paws.

Step 8

Pipe elongated shapes to connect the face and paws, forming the body and legs. Keep these lengths proportionate to the overall poodle shape for a natural look.

Step 9

Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 10 minutes. The cookies are ready when the edges are lightly golden. Baking times may vary depending on your oven, so keep an eye on them to prevent burning.

Step 10

Once baked, remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool completely on a wire rack. After cooling, use the chocolate piping pen to draw the eyes and nose, completing your charming poodle cookies! You can add simple dots or get creative with the design.
