Main Ingredients
  • 1/2 cucumber (approx. 100g)
  • 2 crab sticks (approx. 60g)

Dressing Ingredients
  • 1 Tbsp mayonnaise (15ml)
  • 1/2 tsp mustard (2.5ml)
  • 1 tsp lemon juice (5ml)
  • 1/2 tsp sugar (2.5g)
  • A pinch of black sesame seeds (for garnish)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare the crab sticks. Unwrap them and then gently shred them lengthwise with your hands into bite-sized pieces. It’s best to shred them so they retain some texture rather than making them too fine.

Step 2

Wash the fresh cucumber thoroughly, trim off the ends, and then slice it thinly into julienne strips. You can adjust the thickness to your preference. Gently pat the julienned cucumber dry to prevent the salad from becoming watery.

Step 3

Let’s make a delicious dressing! In a small bowl, combine 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise, 1/2 teaspoon of mustard, 1 teaspoon of refreshing lemon juice, and 1/2 teaspoon of sugar for a touch of sweetness. Stir well with a spoon or a small whisk until all ingredients are smoothly incorporated to create a creamy dressing.

Step 4

Add the shredded crab sticks and julienned cucumber to the dressing bowl and gently toss to combine. It’s important to mix gently so that the dressing evenly coats all the ingredients. Finally, sprinkle a pinch of sesame seeds or black sesame seeds on top for a beautiful presentation and nutty flavor. Your refreshing crab stick salad is ready!
