Main Ingredients
  • 6 Imitation Crab Sticks (approx. 100g)
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 Bowl of Warm Cooked Rice
  • 120g Cabbage
  • 8g Green Onion (Scallion)
  • 1 Tbsp Oyster Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Spicy Soy Sauce (or 1 Tbsp regular soy sauce)
  • 1/2 Tbsp Paprika Powder (for color)
  • 1 Tbsp Vinegar (for washing cabbage)
  • A little Cooking Oil
  • A pinch of Sesame Seeds (for garnish)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, let’s thoroughly wash the cabbage. In a bowl, combine water and 1 tablespoon of vinegar. Soak the cabbage in this mixture for about 5 minutes to remove any residual pesticides.

Step 2

Next, prepare the other ingredients. Finely chop the green onion. Shred the imitation crab sticks lengthwise into bite-sized pieces. After draining the cabbage from the vinegar-water, thinly shred it.

Step 3

Crack the eggs into a bowl and remove the chalazae (the white, stringy bits) with a fork. To eliminate any fishy odor and add flavor, mix in 1 tablespoon of spicy soy sauce (or regular soy sauce) and 1 tablespoon of cooking wine (mirin) to create the egg mixture.

Step 4

Heat a frying pan over medium heat and add a generous amount of cooking oil. Pour in the prepared egg mixture. As the edges begin to cook, gently stir with chopsticks or a spatula to scramble the eggs into soft curds. Be careful not to overcook them.

Step 5

Now, let’s make the stir-fried topping. Lightly oil the frying pan again and add the chopped green onion and shredded cabbage. Stir-fry until the cabbage becomes tender and slightly wilted. Add the paprika powder and mix well to give it a vibrant color and enhance the flavor.

Step 6

Finally, add the shredded imitation crab sticks and 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce to the pan. Stir-fry quickly until all the ingredients are well combined. Your delicious crab stick stir-fry is now complete! Serve it over warm rice and sprinkle with sesame seeds for an extra touch of flavor. Enjoy!
