  • 200ml Store-bought spaghetti sauce
  • 100g Pizza cheese
  • A pinch of parsley flakes (optional)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Shall we make delicious meat sauce tteokbokki with a super simple method? In a wide pan, add the finely chopped green bell pepper, red bell pepper, mushrooms, and onion. Stir-fry over medium heat until the vegetables are slightly translucent. Then, add the ground meat and stir to break it up, cooking until the meat is fully browned. Once the meat has turned white, pour in the store-bought spaghetti sauce and mix well. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. This creates your flavorful meat sauce base.

Step 2

Briefly blanch the tteokbokki rice cakes in boiling water for about 1 minute, then rinse them under cold water and drain well. This step ensures the rice cakes are chewy and absorb the sauce beautifully. Add the blanched rice cakes to the prepared meat sauce and toss gently until each piece is evenly coated. While it’s delicious as is, for an extra treat, generously sprinkle a good amount of pizza cheese on top, followed by a dusting of parsley flakes for both visual appeal and enhanced flavor. You’ll have a fantastic dish ready to enjoy!

Step 3

For an even more special and gourmet experience, consider using an oven or an air fryer. The cheese will melt beautifully, infusing the rice cakes and sauce with its gooey goodness, creating a mouthwatering presentation. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and bake for about 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is golden and bubbly. If using a microwave, heat for 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted. Enjoy this dish immediately while it’s warm for the ultimate taste sensation!
