Make a Satisfying Sandwich Packed with Abundant Cabbage
Enjoy a filling sandwich loaded with fresh cabbage. It’s a delicious and satisfying meal option.
Basic Ingredients
- 2 slices of bread
- 4 frozen meat patties
- 1 handful of thinly sliced cabbage
- 2 slices of processed cheese
- 2 slices of ham
Special Sauce
- 1/5 tsp whole grain mustard
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1/3 tsp sugar
- A pinch of whole black pepper
- 1/5 tsp whole grain mustard
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1/3 tsp sugar
- A pinch of whole black pepper
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare your frozen meat patties. Lightly grease a pan with oil and cook the patties over low heat, allowing them to cook through slowly. Aim for a nice golden-brown sear on the outside.
Step 2
Thinly slice the cabbage into fine shreds. About one handful’s worth will be perfect for the sandwich. Slicing it thinly is key to a pleasant crunch.
Step 3
In a bowl, combine the shredded cabbage with mayonnaise, sugar, and a pinch of whole black pepper. Mix everything thoroughly until the cabbage is well coated with the dressing. This step enhances the cabbage’s fresh flavor.
Step 4
Lay out a long piece of plastic wrap on your work surface or a plate. Place one slice of bread onto the plastic wrap. Using wrap makes it easier to assemble and secure the sandwich later.
Step 5
Layer your ingredients on the bread: start with a slice of cheese, followed by two cooked meat patties. Then, generously add the dressed cabbage mixture. Building up the layers makes the sandwich wonderfully substantial.
Step 6
Top the cabbage layer with the two slices of ham. The savory flavor of the ham will complement the other ingredients beautifully.
Step 7
Spread a thin layer of whole grain mustard on the remaining slice of bread. The mustard’s tangy bite cuts through richness and adds a pleasant zest. Place this slice on top to complete the sandwich.
Step 8
Wrap the entire sandwich tightly with the plastic wrap. Ensure it’s secured so the ingredients stay in place. Chill the wrapped sandwich in the refrigerator for about 5 to 10 minutes. This step helps it firm up.
Step 9
Once slightly firmed up, the sandwich will be much easier to slice. Unwrap it and cut into portions using a sharp knife. Enjoy your delicious and hearty cabbage sandwich!
