Main Ingredients
  • Spam or sliced ham (any kind you have in the fridge is fine) – appropriate amount
  • Bell peppers (using various colors makes it prettier) – appropriate amount
  • Onion (medium size) – 1/2

Seasoning Ingredients
  • Oyster sauce – 2 tablespoons
  • Salt – a pinch
  • Pepper – a pinch
  • Olive oil (or cooking oil) – appropriate amount

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, slice the spam into bite-sized pieces (cubes or slices). Wash the bell peppers and onion thoroughly, then chop them into similar sizes. Prepping the ingredients like this makes stir-frying much easier.

Step 2

Heat a frying pan over medium heat with a generous amount of olive oil. Add the prepared spam, bell peppers, and onion, and begin to stir-fry. Since the spam releases its own oil, you don’t need to add too much oil initially. Stir-fry until the vegetables become slightly translucent.

Step 3

Once the vegetables are somewhat cooked, pour in 2 tablespoons of oyster sauce along the edge of the pan. Adding oyster sauce to the hot pan allows it to cook slightly, bringing out a deeper flavor. Stir well to ensure the sauce evenly coats the ingredients. Finally, add a pinch of pepper to taste. Continue to stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes until all ingredients are well-coated with the sauce. This completes your delicious spam and oyster sauce stir-fry! Serve it over warm rice or enjoy it as is.
