Main Ingredients
- 100g Hello Nature Stir-fried Squid Sauce
- 1 squid, cleaned
- 1/2 red bell pepper
- 1/2 green bell pepper
- 2 bowls cooked rice
- 1 Tbsp sesame oil
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, let’s prepare the ingredients for the rice balls. Finely chop the cleaned squid into bite-sized pieces. Remove the seeds from the bell peppers and chop them finely, similar in size to the squid. Chopping the ingredients small ensures they mix well with the rice and are easy to eat.
Step 2
Lightly oil a preheated pan. Add the chopped bell peppers and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Then, add the chopped squid and stir-fry until it turns opaque. Pour in the 100g of ‘Hello Nature Stir-fried Squid Sauce’ and continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes, ensuring the sauce coats the ingredients evenly. Be mindful of the heat to prevent the sauce from burning.
Step 3
Once the squid is fully cooked and the sauce is well combined with the ingredients, turn off the heat immediately. Overcooking can make the squid tough. Add the 2 bowls of cooked rice and 1 tablespoon of sesame oil. Using a spatula or spoon, gently mix everything together so that the sauce and ingredients are evenly distributed among the rice grains. Be careful not to mash the rice.
Step 4
Let the seasoned rice cool slightly. If you try to form the balls while it’s too hot, the rice can become sticky. Take a portion of the slightly cooled rice into your hands and shape it into round balls, or any shape you prefer. You can even make fun character shapes for kids! Your delicious squid rice balls are now ready. Enjoy them as a simple and tasty picnic meal!
